Film Literacy Lab is a platform for exchanging know-how and best practices in film education across seven European countries (Germany, France, Poland, Denmark, Portugal, Switzerland and Czech Republic). The first edition of the international conference Film Literacy Lab: How to teach about film? took place in Prague/CZ on January 15, 2016.
How do seven European festivals teach about film?
The first edition of the international conference How to teach about film? brought several perspectives on how to introduce documentary films to young people. Besides discovering and presenting the latest films, film festivals also collaborate with schools. Whether it is by means of purely sensory perception in case of youngest children, by an open dialogue with filmmakers and asking the right questions in case of high school students, by a hands-on filmmaking experience or thorugh an experience of a festival jury member or reporter, their activities foster the development of film literacy.
